“Sometimes it’s not about the journey or the destination, but about the people you meet along the way”—Nishan Panwar
Our community is vibrant with creative people, but besides amazing poets, writers, and artists, Omaha is home to a lot of other fascinating people, too: teachers, doctors, nurses, mediators, farmers, and entrepreneurs. In Along the Way, I hope to interview and profile some of my many talented friends.
I’m posting some poems, which unless attributed to someone else, are original, and unless noted are previously unpublished.
I enjoy structuring pieces like sonnets, villanelles, or poems with interlocking rhyme schemes. Fitting together all the right elements and finishing a poem is satisfying in a way that reminds me of putting in the final few pieces of a complicated puzzle.
Discussion, discursion, speculation, and anecdotal evidence.
8th District Story
My friends John and Sharon Pinkerton ran a great campaign for United States Congress in the 8th district of California, and these are some of the stories that came out of that race.
I’m excited to start. I’d love to hear from you if you have suggestions for profiles or feedback on any of the posts. Enjoy. Thanks for reading.
